Custom underwear development, pattern first

Underwear is a fit product before it is anything else. We engineer the pattern, select the fabric against the wearing condition, validate the fit sample on a wearer, then produce at volume.

A physical reference piece beats a description every time

For underwear, send us a garment you consider good — yours or a competitor’s. We measure it, photograph the construction, note the stitch and the elastic quality, and build the pattern to match. That brief takes ten minutes to assemble and saves weeks of back-and-forth.

How custom underwear gets developed

Same eight steps, with a fit-validation stage added between prototype and bulk approval.

01

Choose your product

Pick a ready style or send a reference sock. We confirm construction, gauge and yarn before anything else.

02

Send your requirements

Artwork, logo files, target quantity, target price, delivery market and timeline.

03

Sample development

A digital mock-up first, then a physical pre-production sample in 7–10 days.

04

Logo & packaging

Knit, printed or embroidered logo plus labels, hangtags, barcodes and retail packaging.

05

Sample approval

You sign off the sample. Free revisions until you do; the sample fee is refunded on bulk.

06

Bulk production

18–28 days with inline inspection and a photo/video progress report every week.

07

Quality inspection

AQL 2.5 final inspection with a photo report. SGS, Intertek or BV welcome.

08

Global shipping

FOB, CIF or DDP with full export documentation prepared by our team.

Why underwear development starts with the pattern

Pattern before anything else

The pattern and grade rule are engineered first, then the fabric is chosen to suit them — not the other way around.

Fit validated on a wearer

For a new construction we validate the fit sample before bulk production. It is the cheapest way to avoid a returns problem.

Waistband specified with the elastic

Branding technique and elastic quality are chosen together, because a jacquard logo on a cheap elastic is a logo that fades.

Wash performance guaranteed by test

Sub-4% shrinkage and grade 4+ colourfastness verified per lot, plus waistband recovery testing.

Common questions

Can you develop underwear from a reference garment?

Yes, and it is the fastest brief available. Send a physical piece and we will measure it, document the construction and build a matching pattern — then tell you honestly where the original uses a yarn or construction we would change.

Do you validate the fit before bulk?

For new constructions, yes. We produce a fit sample and it is worn before bulk production. For an existing pattern with a fabric substitution only, fit validation is usually unnecessary.

How fast are samples and what do they cost?

Pre-production samples ship 7–10 days after tech-pack approval, by express, with a spec sheet. The sample fee is quoted per style and refunded in full once the bulk order is placed. Revisions are free until you approve the sample.

What is the MOQ for custom underwear?

From 1,500 pieces per colour, per size set, and 2,000 for seamless constructions. A development uses dedicated pattern and sampling resource, so the entry quantity is higher than a private label order on an existing pattern.

Can you handle packaging, labels and barcodes?

Yes. Printed belly bands, hangtags, header cards, hook boxes, gift boxes and multi-language inserts, plus GS1 barcode and SKU management for retail and Amazon. Packaging is quoted as a separate line so you can see exactly what it costs.

How do you control quality?

One accountable QC chain from yarn to carton: yarn lot inspection on arrival, inline checks at knitting, linking, boarding and pairing, then AQL 2.5 final inspection with a photo report on every shipment. Our lab tests colourfastness (ISO 105), dimensional stability (±3% after five washes), pilling (ISO 12945-2) and mmHg pressure for compression styles.

Send a reference garment.

We will measure it, document the construction and come back with a pattern proposal and a timeline.
