Certifications — the ones that matter, and what each one actually proves

A certificate is only worth something if you can act on it. Here is the certification set behind our production, what each one covers, and what it does not.

100

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

Every yarn and dye lot tested for harmful substances. Class I (baby) and Class II (skin contact) coverage.

ISO

ISO 9001:2015

Quality management system certified across design, production and shipping processes.

BSCI

BSCI audit

Social compliance audit covering working conditions, hours and safety. Reports available under NDA.

SMETA

SMETA 4-Pillar

Sedex-registered ethical audit covering labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics.

What each certification covers — and what it does not

Certifications are specific instruments. Using one to claim something it does not cover is how brands get into trouble.

CertificationWhat it provesWhat it does not prove
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100The tested material contains no harmful substances above the limit values for the stated classThat the whole supply chain is traceable; that worker conditions are compliant
ISO 9001:2015A documented, audited quality management system operates across the processThat any individual product is defect-free — that is what AQL inspection is for

SMETA 4-PillarLabour standards, health and safety, environment and business ethics are independently auditedProduct-level chemical compliance — that is OEKO-TEX

How certificates are used

Documents ship with the goods, not on request afterwards

Where a programme uses certified material, the certificates and transaction certificates are issued with the shipment. That matters because your own claim to your customer depends on having the documentation, and chasing a certificate after the container has sailed is a painful exercise.

  • Scope certificates — supplied at the start of a programme so you can plan your claims
  • Transaction certificates — issued with the shipment for GOTS, GRS and RWS materials
  • Test reports — colourfastness, shrinkage, pilling and, for compression, mmHg pressure
  • Audit reports under NDA — BSCI and SMETA reports shared with buyers who need them
  • Third-party verification — SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas testing available on request

How we handle compliance claims

A compliance claim you cannot support with a document is worse than no claim at all. Everything we state here is available as a document on request.

We only claim what the document supports

Where a certification covers a material rather than a product, we say so. It is more useful to you than a vague compliance claim you cannot defend to a retailer.

Certification scope is quoted, not implied

Certified yarns carry a real cost premium. It appears in the itemized quote as a line item so you can judge whether the claim is worth the margin.

Audits are welcomed, not managed

Third-party inspection and audit access are part of how we work. A buyer who wants verification gets it rather than a meeting about it.

Compliance documentation at product level

Care labelling, fibre content declarations, country-of-origin marking and, for kids’ ranges, the Class I documentation your market requires.

Frequently asked questions

Which certifications apply to your production?

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ISO 9001:2015, BSCI, SMETA 4-Pillar. Materials include GOTS organic cotton · RWS merino wool · GRS recycled polyester · bamboo, modal, combed and mercerized cotton · wicking polyamide blends. Certificates are shared on request, and third-party audits by SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas are welcome before shipment.

Can you provide certificates before we order?

Yes. Scope certificates for the certifications relevant to your product are supplied at the enquiry stage so you can assess whether the claim you intend to make is supportable. Transaction certificates for certified materials are issued with the shipment.

Are you OEKO-TEX certified as a company?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a material certification, not a factory certification — the certificate covers yarn and dye lots tested against the standard, in Class I and Class II. That distinction matters when you write the claim on your packaging, and we will help you get the wording right.

Who audits the partner mills?

Social compliance audits (BSCI, SMETA) are carried out by accredited third-party auditors at the audited site. Our own qualification audit covers capacity, machinery, QC process, yarn sourcing and documentation. Buyers can also commission their own audit before placing a programme.

Can we audit the production site?

Yes. Third-party inspections (SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas), a pre-shipment site visit, or a live video walkthrough of the line running your order — all available. We also share the audit criteria we apply to every partner mill.

Are kids’ styles compliant with EU and US child-product rules?

Kids’ styles are built to OEKO-TEX® Class I and tested against the strictest child-product requirements — skin-safe reactive dyes, no detachable trinkets that fail pull tests. Documentation supports EN 71 and CPSIA tracking-label programs on request.

How do you control quality?

One accountable QC chain from yarn to carton: yarn lot inspection on arrival, inline checks at knitting, linking, boarding and pairing, then AQL 2.5 final inspection with a photo report on every shipment. Our lab tests colourfastness (ISO 105), dimensional stability (±3% after five washes), pilling (ISO 12945-2) and mmHg pressure for compression styles.

Tell us your product and your market — we will send the certificates that actually apply, and the wording you can defend.
